Real Madrid are interested in signing Son Heung-min from Tottenham Hotspur, according to . The report has claimed that Madrid are looking for a new forward, and one of the players the former La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners are interested in is Son.
Son has been on the books of Tottenham since 2015 and has established himself as one of the best forwards in the Premier League. The 31-year-old South Korea international has become a goal machine in recent years and was made the Tottenham captain at the start of the season.
The 31-year-old forward has made 274 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. Son has scored 108 goals and given 52 assists in those games. Tottenham are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with 14 points from six mat…
Isco and Saul Niguez have been left out of Spain s final 23-man squad for Euro 2016.
Full-back Juanfran and Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos have been included as expected, along with Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke, while young Lucas Vazquez has retained his place.
Head coach Vicente del Bosque announced 19 of the players he will take to France earlier on Tuesday, leaving four extra places to be made up from Madrid and Atletico players following their commitments in the Champions League final last Saturday.
Juanfran s inclusion comes as little surprise given the injury to Dani Carvajal, which ruled him out of the tournament. Arsenal youngster Hector Bellerin was added as his direct replacement.
Saul has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with Atletico but h…

This news was always going to be a body blow to the club whenever it came. I just thought it would be another few years away. What a manager, what a man, let’s go out with a bang Jurgen!

Real Madrid were interested in signing Cristian Romero from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2024, according to . The report has claimed that Madrid saw Romero as a good option for defence, but the player himself was keen on staying in North London and Spurs themselves did not want to cash in on the Argentina international central defender.
Romero is one of the best defenders in the world and has been superb for Tottenham and Argentina over the years. The 26-year-old centre-back won the Copa America with Argentina in 2021 and 2024 and the FIFA World Cup with the South American giants in 2022.
Tottenham are one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League and are aiming to finish in the top four this season. As for Madrid, they are aiming to win La Liga and the UEFA Cham…
Darwin Nunez scored the 1,000th goal of Jurgen Klopp’s reign in Liverpool’s comfortable 5-1 Europa League win over Sparta Prague but it was not quite the perfect warm-up for Sunday’s title clash with Manchester City after another injury blow.
The Uruguay international finished the last-16 first-leg tie with another on the stroke of half-time but it was his first in the 25th minute which was massively important – and not just because of the landmark it brought up.
Liverpool had been under a sustained spell of pressure after Alexis Mac Allister, taking over penalty duties from Nunez after his failure against Chelsea in January, had put them ahead.
Perhaps spurred on by that snub Nunez – out of nowhere, as is often his inclination – cut in from the left …
Sami Khedira says Germany will not settle for anything less than the title at this year s Euro 2012 tournament.
The Germans were beaten 1-0 in the Euro 2008 final by Spain, while they were eliminated by the same opponent in the semi-finals of the 2010 World Cup.
However, the Real Madrid midfielder feels that Germany have made plenty of progress since South Africa, and insists that winning Euro 2012 is all that matters.
I can only agree with Lukas (Podolski) that winning Euro 2012 is all that counts for us, Khedira told Kicker.
We had already set our sights on winning the title at the 2010 World Cup, and we re even more experienced now. The players know how to cope with the pressure. We have made a lot of progress since 2010.
Germany and Spain …
RB Leipzig have a chance to collect the first major silverware of the club s brief history when they face Bayern Munich in Saturday s DFB-Pokal final.
Much has been written about the club s ownership status and how the backing of drinks company Red Bull has fuelled their rise, but on the pitch there is much to admire about Leipzig.
Despite ending the league campaign with a slump of three winless matches, Leipzig secured a Champions League return by finished third in the Bundesliga, albeit some 12 points behind champions Bayern.
Niko Kovac has the double in his sights in his first season in charge of the Bavarian giants, even if victory in Berlin may not be enough to keep his job. And Leipzig will be tough opponents, though the final will be a new experience for …
With the international break upon us, a number of national teams will be without their top stars ahead of this weekend s 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
England left-back Ashley Cole, 32, will miss the Three Lions World Cup qualifier against Montenegro on Friday.
The 32-year-old defender aggravated the injury against Norwich City, and has been replaced by Arsenal s Kieran Gibbs in Roy Hodgson s squad.
Cole has not been ruled out for the Poland match on 15 October, but remains a doubt, with Leighton Baines expected to start both qualifiers.
England are currently sitting atop Group H with 16 points, one point clear of Ukraine and Montenegro, respectively.
The Three Lions, who are to defeat Montenegro at Wembley Stadium on Friday night,…
